In the churchyard of Eresztevény lies the tomb of Áron Gábor (1814-1849) who died a hero’s death on 2 July 1849. He was killed in the artillery duel between the Háromszék defence and the troops of the Russian tsar being hit on his left chest by a six-pound cannonball. Áron Gábor was a famous cannon caster and regarded by his people a hero artillery official that gave his life for the revolution.
